Grolia

Firmware, screen software, and app work for a mushroom-growing appliance. It launched on Kickstarter and raised more than $155,000, with the software we built running on the unit and in the owner’s app.

Founder

About Steve.

Steve, founder of Wahlu Labs, holding his dog.

Steve started as a carpenter and began writing code after work because he enjoyed it. He kept at it, got good at it, and eventually moved into software full time after a stint as a structural engineer.

Steve has worked under contract with Samsung and People Centric, and with teams from Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank. He now runs Wahlu Labs.

The part he enjoys most is the unglamorous one: sitting with a business, working out where the hours actually go, and building the thing that gives them back. Trades and engineering taught him to understand how something gets used before building it, and that is still how every project here starts.
