The person behind the work
Meet Steve.
Steve Richardson started as a carpenter, spent time as a structural engineer, and learned to code after work. What began as a hobby became Wahlu Labs.
He has worked under contract with Samsung and People Centric, and with teams from Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank. He also co-founded Grolia, where he leads the software.
The approach hasn’t changed: understand how something will be used, then build it properly.

What does Wahlu Labs build?
Custom software and AI solutions for businesses of all sizes: dashboards and internal tools, SaaS products, iOS and Android apps, desktop apps for Mac and Windows, firmware for connected devices, and AI consulting and automation.
Where are you based?
Sydney, Australia. We have worked with teams in the United States, Australia and the United Arab Emirates.
Do you work with companies in the US?
Yes. Sterling Civil, a civil engineering firm in the US, is a client. Sydney mornings overlap with US West Coast afternoons, so a regular call is easy to schedule.
Do you build apps for iOS and Android?
Yes. Pico, our carousel editor, is free on the App Store, so you can try our work first. It is built in React Native, so the same code runs on Android. Apps that rely on AR, the camera or sensors we build natively in SwiftUI.
How much does a project cost?
Projects start from US$12,000, quoted in US dollars. The enquiry form has a budget field, so tell us the range you have in mind and we will say whether it fits.
How do I start a project?
